Hana Fireworks Fund Header

Aloha,

This is the last year we are asking you to support Hāna's New Year's Eve fireworks. It will be your final magnificent show ... if we can collect the money.

It is five years since the tragic loss in a flash flood of Carl & Rae Lindquist, who inaugurated this splendid community occasion and in whose fine memory we have kept it going. Last year we didn't manage to find all the money, but the generous folk who responded to our appeal created a substantial war chest as the basis of the 2014 fund. We don't need a great deal more to make it happen.

It's one last chance to gather in front of the hotel and welcome the New Year in with a party, confirmation of the kokua that Hāna people feel for this great community, and a spectacular display.

We appreciate your past generous donations hugely, particularly last year when it was uncertain if we could reach the goal. Would you help honoring the memory of Carl & Rae with one last donation? Just an average of $25 from half the households of Hāna would do it. Of course it would be a kindness, too, if you can donate a little more on behalf of people who find it hard to afford. But any sum will be very welcome.

If, by happy chance, we collect more than we need, the HBC will use the surplus to endow a scholarship at the Hāna school. And should we fail to reach the target, we propose to apply your donations for this same purpose.

Please help us conclude this important tradition with a bang in honor Carl & Rae by contributing today:
